Product Specifications Anti-fish IGF-I:

The Product:  Anti-barramundi IGF-I antiserum is a polyclonal antiserum   raised against recombinant barramundi IGF-I.  This antiserum has been   used for radioimmunoassay, and is suitable for immunohistochemistry and   Western blotting.  

Source: The antiserum was obtained from a rabbit immunised with   recombinant barramundi IGF-I.  

Quantity:  10 µl of serum.  

Appearance:  White powder.  

Specificity: The antiserum displays less than 0.5% cross-reactivity with   recombinant human IGF-I and less than 1% cross-reactivity with   recombinant human IGF-II.   It has 100 % cross-reactivity with bream, salmon, trout, tilapia and tuna IGF-I.  

Titre:  Can be used at a dilution of 1/30,000 for radioimmunoassay. At   this dilution the antiserum is equipotent with [125I] barramundi IGF-I   tracer (80 Ci/g), [125I] salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) IGF-I tracer (80   Ci/g) and [125I] trout  (Oncorhynchus mykiss) IGF-I tracer (80 Ci/g).   Reconstitution: Dissolve in a suitable buffer solution appropriate for the   desired application.   Storage/Stability:  At least 2 years at 2-4°C (lyophilised).  After   reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C.  Avoid repeated freezing and   thawing.  

Radioimmunoassay: For radioimmunoassay (RIA), the antiserum is used at a final dilution of   1/30,000.  At this dilution the antiserum binds 20-30% of fresh [125I]   barramundi IGF-I tracer (80 Ci/g).  Half maximal inhibition (ED50) of   radioligand binding is produced by 1.70 ng/ml of barramundi IGF-I and   the limit of detection is approximately 0.15 ng/ml. At this dilution the   antiserum is equipotent with [125I] salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch)   IGF-I tracer (80 Ci/g) and with  [125I] trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)   IGF-I tracer (80 Ci/g).
