Des(2,3)[Ala31]IGF-I, recombinant protein (Receptor Grade)
Des (2,3) (Ala 31) Insulin-like Growth Factor-I, recombinant Synonyms:Des (2,3) (Ala 31) Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 Des(2,3)[Ala31]IGF-1
Product Specifications Des(2,3)[Ala31]IGF-I:
Des(2,3)[Ala31]IGF-I is a 68 amino acid analog of human IGF-I lacking Pro-Glu at positions 2-3 at the N-terminus and with a substitution of Ala for Tyr at position 31. Compared to [Ala31]IGF-I, Des(2,3)[Ala31]IGF-I has reduced binding to the Type 1 IGF receptor, but binding to acid-stripped human serum binding proteins (predominantly hIGFBP-3) is unaltered.
Source: Des(2,3)[Ala31]IGF-I is produced recombinantly as a fusion protein in E.coli using a patented expression system. The fusion protein containing Des(2,3)[Ala31]IGF-I is refolded, and after the leader peptide is removed, the Des(2,3)[Ala31]IGF-I product is purified to Receptor Grade using several chromatography steps.
