Product Specifications (Leu27) IGF-II:
[Leu27]IGF-II is an analog of human IGF-II which has a Leu(L) substitution in place of Try(Y) at position 27 of the IGF-II amino acid sequence. Compared to IGF-II, [Leu27]IGF-II has a 1000- fold reduced affinity for the type 1 receptor.
Source: [Leu27]IGF-II is produced recombinantly in E.coli using a patented expression system, and the [Leu27]IGF-II is refolded under oxidising conditions and a short leader peptide is cleaved. Several chromatography purification steps are employed to yield Receptor Grade [Leu27]IGF-II.

Biological Activity: [Leu27]IGF-II in a type 2 IGF receptor binding assay using rat L6 myoblasts showed an ED50 of 16 nM, compared to 8 nM for IGF-II. Compared to IGF-II,[Leu27]IGF-II has a 1000 fold reduced affinity for the type 1 IGFreceptor.
