The company was established as a distribution company for immunological reagents (proteins and antibodies for infectious diseases, transcription research, IGF´s and IGFBP´s) under the name A. F. Schützdeller, Biochemicals (AFSBIO).

The new focus is on development, manufacturing and distribution of immunoassay kits. Therefore the name of the company has changed to reflect this fact.

The first product line was focused on Insulin-like Growth Factors (IGF´s) and Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Proteins (IGFBP´s).

Biotinylated Insulin-like Growth Factors and analogs are produced with a new biotinylation technology ensuring full binding capacity to IGFBP´s, IGF receptors and antibodies.

On the basis of this technology non-radioactive Western-ligand Blotting kits have been developped and been commercially available more than one year before the first scientific paper on this alternative technique have been published.

Applications for been biotinylated Insulin-like Growth Factors and analogs are competitive ELISAs, ligand based immunoassays, immunohistochemistry, immunoprecipitation, cross-linking experiments, flow cytometry and experimental cell therapy.
